Join the LCPS Foundation this Wednesday, June 12 for Trivia Night at the Game II, 4131 Northrise from 6:30p.m.- 8:00p.m. Join us for a night of fun and to show off your smarts while supporting LCPS teachers! All proceeds support innovative classroom teaching grants and mini-grants to purchase classroom supplies for LCPS educators. Scan the QR Code or visit: lcpsf.org for more information. The LCPS Foundation has awarded more than $370,000 in competitive grants, with individual grants up to $5,000, to teachers, counselors and other school staff to help fund innovate classroom projects to enhance student learning literacy, math, science, technology, and the arts. The LCPS Foundation awarded $27,000 during the 22-23 School Year and has allocated $30,000 for the 23-24 school year, supporting the outstanding LCPS educators in the quest for excellence in our classrooms. With the help of generous donors, the Foundation provided $100 vouchers to Alpha Teaching Tools for classroom supplies.

The Class of 2024 will participate in commencement ceremonies May 23-25 at the Pan American Center, 1810 E. University Avenue, on the campus of New Mexico State University. Attendees will be required to follow NMSU’s clear bag policy, which means no bags that do not align with the policy will be allowed inside the venue. Approved bags include clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12 inches wide by six inches deep and 12 inches high. Small clutch bags are allowed, as well as soft, flexible seat cushions. Please see the photo of all prohibited items that will not be allowed in the Pan American Center. The Pan Am staff asked me to send again as this list will be strictly enforced. Congratulations to the JROTC team from Organ Mountain High School for competing at the NMAA state competition and taking 1st place for the Armed Exhibition Drill team competition. A JROTC Armed Exhibition Drill Team is a specialized unit within the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program that focuses on precision drill performances with rifles. Members of these teams undergo intensive training to master complex rifle handling techniques, including spins, tosses, and catches, while executing synchronized marching movements and formations in front of judges and spectators. The Organ Mountain High School team executed their routine with flawless precision demonstrating their drill techniques and seamless teamwork to win 1st place at this year’s NMAA state competition.
